About this ePortoflio

My name is Arvin Novelo, and I am a middle school Language Arts teacher at Astumbo Middle School in Guam. I currently teach grades 6–8 and focus on helping students strengthen their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while integrating meaningful technology into classroom instruction.

This blended learning ePortfolio was created as part of my coursework in instructional technology and documents the development of a 7th grade Language Arts blended learning course. The purpose of this blog is to reflect on instructional design decisions, explore effective technology integration, and share insights gained through the course development process.

The course design emphasized intentional technology integration, authentic assessment, flipped instruction, and research-informed instructional strategies that support student engagement and deeper learning in middle school classrooms.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy developing instructional materials, exploring new educational technology tools, and supporting school activities that promote literacy and academic growth. My professional goal is to continue strengthening my instructional practices while helping students develop the digital literacy and communication skills necessary for success in modern learning environments.
